George Fox, 83, GeorgeHFoxpassed away on December 15, 2016. He was born on January 4, 1933 to a missionary family in India, a place where he would return as an adult as part of his own ministry. George spent more than 60 years working for the Lord as a preacher and teacher of the Word.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Mamselle. He is survived by his first wife, Jean, six children, David, Alice, Ruth, Richard, George, Jr., and Joyce, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

George earned a Master’s degree in business and communication, as well as a Ph.D in Philosophy and Religion from Columbia Pacific University. He began his career in ministry in 1953 at a small church in South Dakota. It wasn’t long before he returned to the mission field in India.

After returning from India, George continued to preach and teach the next generation of preachers at seminaries and Bible colleges throughout California. In all, his ministry lasted more than 60 years, and he continued teaching and preaching nearly every week up until his passing.

One of his passions during his career in ministry was filmmaking. While writing was his first forte, this gave George an entrée into the creative field of filmmaking. He then served an apprenticeship in editing and gained expertise in all dimensions of the craft of filmmaking, including music and sound effects.

George began his work with films in 1956 with Foreign Missionary Service in India and then transitioned to Worldwide Pictures. As part of his career in films, which lasted into the late 1970s, he worked with Moody Institute of Science and Billy Graham Films.

George also loved to teach the Word, having taught students in Canada and India as well as the United States. Among the places he taught were the Master’s College, Grace School of Theology and Ministry and, most recently, Cornerstone College and Seminary in Vallejo.

George was a gifted teacher and preacher with a great heart for the Lord. He will be missed by his family, friends, students and those who were inspired by his ministry for the past 63 years.

George will be remembered during a memorial service on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Grace Bible Church in Pleasant Hill, CA.
